This full loop through Ladakh takes you from the streets of Leh to the sand dunes of Nubra Valley and the impossible blue of Pangong Tso, with time built in to acclimatize to the altitude along the way. Expect long, scenic drives over some of the highest motorable passes in the world, monasteries perched on cliffsides, and crew dinners under more stars than you have ever seen.
Arrive in Leh, acclimatize
Fly into Leh and take it easy for the day. This is non-negotiable at 3,500m. Short walk around Leh Market in the evening once everyone is feeling normal, followed by a group dinner to meet your crew.
Leh local sightseeing
Visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Thiksey Monastery. A gentle day to keep acclimatizing while covering the sights closest to town.
Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Cross Khardung La (5,359m) into the Nubra Valley. Check into camps at Hunder, then spend the evening riding the sand dunes on Bactrian camels as the light turns gold.
Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso
Drive from Nubra to Pangong Tso via Shyok. Reach the lake in the afternoon and spend the evening camped on its banks, watching the water shift through every shade of blue.
Pangong Tso to Leh via Chang La
Sunrise at the lake before the drive back to Leh over Chang La (5,360m). Free evening in Leh to shop for pashmina and apricots.
Free day / optional Khardung La ride
A buffer day for altitude, weather, or road conditions. Optionally join an add-on excursion or simply rest before the journey home.
Departure
Transfer to Leh airport for your flight home, carrying back more photos of mountains than you know what to do with.
